Happy Independence Day

Our 4th of July was really low key. Well, as low key as you can get with a raging, over heating, pregnant woman and a cranky toddler.

We started the morning off with our ward pancake breakfast. This was Bruce's second breakfast of the day and he ate two pancakes, two pieces of sausage and a bowl of fruit all by himself. He is a bottomless pit these days.

Here is our family picture, I look absolutely awful but I had to include it because this is the first time Bruce did a "cheese" for the camera! He's getting so big and comprehending things, I didn't even know I taught him!
Afterwards, Bruce took a long nap before we headed downtown (2 minutes down the street) to see how the little beach town was celebrating. It wasn't really our crowd and there was absolutely no parking so we went back home and Kiel BBQ'd an awesome meal. Luckily we live so close to the firework show we didn't have to go anywhere. Bruce slept through all the fireworks, surprisingly since there were some kids setting them off right on our street. I tried to send Kiel out there with his gun and badge twice to get them to knock it off...but he thought I was over-reacting. It was just 2 years ago that WE were the kids putting on our own firework show...I am getting so old!

One of my facebook friends posted this in her status on the 4th: Today is the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln, signing the declaration of independence which abolished slavery, Happy 4th everyone!

Oh my, someone needed to lay off the dope during elementary school. Even my nieces know the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Emancipation Proclamation. Anyway, she got an overwhelming amount of comments letting her know how WRONG she was. It was quite funny.

Happy 4th!

Ok, Bruce is a big kid now. He lost the baby look... or at least he did in the picture. Amazing how it happens so fast and suddenly.
