4 Months & an Excuse to post a wedding pic.

The 25th marked our 4 month anniversary and the birthday of my stepmom Karen (happy Birthday, I need to call you). We don't really celebrate our monthly marks but we'll mention it if we remember.

On this particular anniversary it was activity night and I wasn't in the best mood, I'll admit. After taking all three girls home I think I texted something to Kiel like "Please shoot me" and no it wasn't while I was driving. I've learned my lesson (thanks for the video Brittany). He responded with, "I take it the drive home is going well ;)" and that was that.

But when I got home, my hot husband was making dinner just for me because he had already ate. And the movie Millions was finally downloaded, a good watch for all, especially around Christmas. And so it was, I was happy again, eating the dinner my husband cooked for me and scoping out facebook and that was that.

Then I went to change into my pajamas and my husband wanted me to listen to something. "Babe, come here I want you to hear this"
"Ok, hold on I'll be right out" but knowing Kiel that answer wouldn't suffice, so he came in to get me.
"Babe, COME here I want to show you something"
and then my voice got a little louder even though he was right in front of me, "by the time You take out the trash, I will be ready to see whatever you want to show me"
But he persisted, "Just COME HERE"
"Take OUT the TRASH!" and so he did and I finished changing and that was that.

And now, it was time to listen to whatever he wanted me to listen to. It was a song, a romantic song called Good Company. The most adorable song I've ever heard and we listened to it on our 4 month anniversary and it went a little something like this:

You and me together we'll be
Forever you'll see
We two can be good company
You and me
Yes, together we two
Together, that's you
Forever with me
We'll always be good company
You and me
Yes, together we'll be

You and me
Together we'll be
Forever, you'll see
We'll always be good company
You and me
Just wait and see

and then he said, in his cutest voice "see babe, that's all I wanted" and then I felt horrible, but also wonderful because I really did marry the best man in the whole world, and the story continues...

and here is what his face looks like when he uses his cute voice.

Bay Area

We went home this past weekend and I forgot my memory card for the camera, thus no pictures but the weekend kind of went like this:

1. Dad picked us up from the airport, said not very nice things about Oakland and let us borrow his truck for the weekend. We arrived to a romantically decorated 5th wheel, thanks to Frances and I reunited with Montana (my dog).

2. Saturday, Brittany texted us early in the morning inviting us to an opportunity for blessings and we opted out. After breakfast from chef Jared, I did my usual bay area stops while Kiel went with his dad to help people move. We then all went to Patrice's high school reunion picnic and that is when I discovered I forgot the SD card to my camera. We ate good food and then I went and got my hair chopped off! Thanks Katie! If you live in the bay area and want something done to your hair go to her she's amazing, Permanent Solutions! To see a picture of the lovely "do" scroll down to the next post.

3. Afterwards we took Kiel's family to the Olive Garden, where we ate and chatted and I watched as they carried on a conversation by using just quotes from movies (as an outsider it is quite amusing).

4. We went to church, which I have to say was a wonderful sacrament meeting, I felt the spirit so strong and then in relief society Diane Billstrom did such a good job on her lesson. It was a wonderful Sunday! Then we went and ate and packed up and ate some more and then it was time for us to go home.

We'll be back September 10th! But not before we go to SAN DIEGO this weekend!

By the way this post is lame without any pictures, feel free to not read it even though it's too late. But all in all it was a great time.

Reality T.V.

If the title led you to believe that I would be dishing on how much I loathe reality t.v., I apologize, but just the opposite is true. Whenever I watch t.v. Kiel wonders what trashy reality show I'm hooked on next and it's true. If I turn on the t.v. it's to watch re-runs of Jon & Kate plus 8, (that tragedy deserves a separate post...or maybe not.) The Hills, Real Housewives of Orange County/New Jersey/New York/Atlanta and now they are filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I know this because....
they were filming in my office today!!! I was in heaven and made sure to wear my best dress for the event. I guess our company will be a part of taping throughout the show, of course I will try and pop my head in at the most inconvenient times but due to advanced technologies I will be edited out ;(

My New Name

In 14 days my name will no longer be Melissa Janelle Stirling and will be changed to Melissa Stirling Christensen. I decided to drop my middle name for a few reasons:

1. Melissa Stirling Christensen sounds so distinguished and strong.
2. The two names, Melissa Janelle, used together just bring back memories of me getting in trouble.
3. My dad was not blessed with any boys to carry the family name so I decided to carry it through as my middle name.
4. MJ has now become the nationwide nickname for Michael Jackson and for obvious reasons I do not want to be associated with him.
5. For now on when my mother says "Melissa Janelle" I do not have to answer because it will no longer be my name.

So say goodbye to Janelle and if you have a sweet memory of her please leave a comment. But beware negative comments will be deleted as I would like to remember only the good times I had with this name. With Love for the last time,

Ps. I know this post is super dramatic and mostly for comedic purposes but I oddly feel a little piece of my identity has been replaced because of this change.

Saturdays

We love Saturdays! We usually get to sleep in and never have a set time to be anywhere. Saturday is the day Kiel spoils me and cooks us breakfast, this is the 4th Saturday in a row and counting ;) We've decided he is the breakfast King. When it comes to dinner I can whip something up out of nothing, but for some reason breakfast is not my expertise. Kiel; however, makes the most delicious, filling breakfasts ever. This morning it was breakfast burritos. Yum!
We did lots of errands this Saturday and then we went to ERIN & STEVE's Wedding!
Tonight we celebrated Steve and Erin as they said their "I Do's" at LMU. Steve was in the same academy class as Kiel and they were roommates for a short while when Kiel was transferred to South LA after he graduated. Everything was just beautiful and the bride of course was gorgeous. Below are some pictures of us and then of Kiel with his fellow academy mates. These four all went to the academy together, the groom is in the middle. Academy buddies Us Again

PS., I think I'm returning the blue dress, it adds an unwanted twenty pounds in the middle.

PPS., I totally forgot that the missionaries will be here tomorrow for dinner so I must go grocery shopping before the clock turns 12am and I turn into a pumpkin.

PPPS., Kiel is working OT tonight and also doesn't know the missionaries will be here tomorrow. Kiel Tired = No Fun AT ALL

Dodgers Game

Bring Giants fans to a Dodgers game and this is what you get...Melissa bored out of her mind, so she would rather take a picture of her pedicure than watch the game...hot pink toes.
Yum cotton candy!
Kiel wishing I would leave him alone.
Babe, smile for the camera. It's our first baseball game together. Fine, I'll smile for the camera.
Stop pretending like you care who wins and look at the camera.
Ow! Okay fine, I'll leave you alone. Geez.
Finally, I got my picture I wanted.
What an awesome LA thing to do ;)
