Hawaii!

This trip already seems so long ago, but I finally have time for a little recap.

For our 2nd anniversary, we took a trip, just the two of us to the beautiful state of Hawaii. We went to the island of Oahu and stayed on the northside at the beautiful Turtle Bay Resort. The northside of the island is more native and less tourist and it's beyond gorgeous.

I really do not feel like organizing the pictures, but this is what we did: We went to pearl harbor, the Polynesian cultural center, there we experienced a Luau and saw "Ha, a breath of Life" which is an amazing play that included everything Hawaiian and fire dancing. We did some temple work (the temple was less than 15 min. from our hotel.) We hung out at the resort and on the beach. We went to a flea market and picked up some cool souvenirs...turns out Kiel has really good negotiating skills. We ate at native restaurants, shrimp heads anyone? We got sun burned. Swam in the ocean and resort pools, relaxed and had a blast.

All Aboard for Brucey's first party!

The Theme: For B's first party, we decided to do a train theme. There happened to be a park near us that gives free train rides on the third Saturday of every month, so it turned out perfect.

The Invitations: I made the invites look like train tickets and brought a hole puncher to punch the ticket when the kiddo's arrived (that step was missed tho.)

The Decorations: I kept the decorations minimal. We had balloons, table cloths, napkins and plastic ware and goodie bags all in primary colors.
The Cake: I can't take credit for the cake, it was Amy who gladly came over and helped my idea come to life and it was Lisa who came over early in the a.m. to assemble the cake and add the finishing touches. But if you are wondering what the green blob is in the middle, that's suppose to be a hill and yes I did that all by myself, thank you!
Finished product:
The Menu: We did a bbq, and had Choo Choo Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, salad, fishy crackers, bella cheese and mac and cheese.
The Birthday Boy: Bruce was dressed as a train engineer, although he didn't wear his hat very well ;(

Activities: The kids played at the park and rode on the train.

Goody Bags: All the kids got a train whistle, an engineer hat, a train sucker, balloon and train stickers.

The Guests:
All in all, it was a really fun birthday party. For more pictures click here

1 year

Can you believe how old Brucey boy is? I have to say I feel physically better this time of year than I did at this same time last year ;)

It's been a very busy month and it's been all about Bruce. Hence the reason, I haven't blogged about our awesome Hawaii trip.

Today Bruce had his one year check up: 30 inches tall, 23 lbs and 6 ounces, 47 cm head circumference. All in the 50th - 75th percentile.

We are on day 2 of no bottles and this little boy is taking it like a champ! No complaints, I'm so proud of him.

Bruce is teething big time right now. He cut his right canine and right top 1st molar and he's currently cutting 2 bottom molars on each side. We've hardly had to give him anything for comfort except ice cold watermelon.

One of his big accomplishments that he is so proud of is he has figured out how to go down the stairs. It's one of his favorite things to do. That and open and shut his closet doors. Mommy likes supervising his closet door activity better than the stairs so we only let him play on the stairs when it's time to go up them, i.e. to change his diaper. I have a video of him climbing up and down the stairs. But it won't post. :(

I might have already mentioned this, my prego brain can't remember anything lately, but we had a 1 yr photo shoot for our little man. Alexia was there when he was first born and has taken all of his professional pictures. I love her work and am sad she won't be able to take newborn pics, of Rhyan. She's already booked ;( And I won't hassle her too much since she has 4 month old twins and a two year old to juggle. Anyway, if you want to see a sneak peek click on this link: 1 year photo shoot or go to my facebook wall.

While staying at Omi's Kiel cleared out a few boxes he still had stored there and he found his music bear stuffed animal that he loved as a baby. This is now Bruce's favorite thing to snuggle with during bed time. Move over stuffed dog, music bear is hear to stay. I wish I wasn't running out of his room as fast as I can while laying him down for bed or else i could video tape his giant smile when ever we wind up music bear and hand it to him.

Bruce has also phased out his 2nd nap of the day. He now takes one 3 hour nap from 11 - 2 and sleeps 12 hours at night.

This coming Saturday is B's birthday party. We are super excited to jump on the Bruce Wayne Express and celebrate his birth. Pics and details to follow.

Peace out!

Say Hello to the Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday Bruce!

For my special day mom made me my favorite breakfast: scrambled egg yolks, (but this time she fed me the whole egg) toast and I tried strawberries for the first time. I loved them! I also drank whole milk mixed with formula in my big boy sippy cup!

After my breakfast I got to open my present. I got a water table which I can play with outside, a toy story ball and some cars.

Mom decorated the room for me and I really enjoyed the sign. After dinner I got to try cake for the very first time. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

I loved it! Thanks Aunt Brittany for the recipe.

Thanks for the presents and the cards!

Best,
B
