I blogged alot today...

There is a heavy dose of Melissa randomness if you need it, just scroll down.

Oh and we're private, some creepy creeperson made a comment about Bruce in the tub. Not cool.

Yesterday

Yesterday, I gave my baby a bath and put him to bed. Today, I woke up and went into my baby's room and noticed his new baby face. He's becoming his own. I am now able to see who he looks like.

and it's exactly like his father:
They even have the same smile:

Parental Cannibalism

Is that a thing? If it is I'm struggling with it. I might need therapy.

I want to eat my baby. I don't mean nibble on his scrumptious cheeks and call it a day. No. I want to slather him in butter, sprinkle him with powdered sugar, slap him on top of two flap jacks, drizzle him with syrup and call it the best breakfast I've ever had.
He smells too good and is too cute for me to resist.

But I do, EVERYDAY.
One day, when he's a teenager and doesn't like me very much because he has a 12am curfew I will remind him that he is lucky to be alive because I almost ate him. And maybe I'll throw in "I must have learned the self control from having a curfew when I was your age."
Or maybe I will go buy powdered sugar tonight and go to town on my baby tomorrow...you never know ;)
If you can't tell I need to get out of the house. You need not be alarmed, although I do want to eat my baby, I won't.

An Old Fashioned Post

Since the baby was born I noticed all of my posts have been about the baby. Then I thought my poor readers have been without melissa randomness (i like to italicize for dramatic effect, is it working?) for so long, I must give them a dose!

Once you have a baby you have to be careful or everything can become about baby, hence my blog. This morning I woke up and told Kiel we needed to go on a day trip because I had been cooped up in the house all week.

He said we needed to relax because he had been cooped up outside all week.

That's not even a thing. You can't be cooped up outside.

He said he just made it a thing and then proceeded to the living room to play his video game, aka erase this conversation from his memory.

So I sat in bed and wondered what to do. Should I nag? Whine? or play my "you owe me card."

I collected that card last night when Kiel was laughing hysterically at something on his computer. He was practically in stitches. I asked what he was laughing at and he said "a whale." I went over to see and it was our 1st anniversary pictures at Catalina Island. It was ME 9 months pregnant. I slugged him in the arm and he laughed harder.

I got out of bed and said you owe me and he said, fine. But we are not going to San Diego to stalk your favorite reality stars. Dang! That man is on to me, so on to me.

Instead we walked 9 blocks toward the beach and stopped at Subway for breakfast and then walked back.

It was just what I needed.

And here is the real reason why you're here:
And to prove that Kiels earphones for his video game are mind erasers I will post this blog and he will say "I never said that."
It's all good fun ;)

Bruce and Mariah at the Beach

We met the Jordan's at Huntington beach. It was fun to see Mariah and Jack play with Bruce. Here are two videos of Mariah and Bruce. It was windy but you can still hear Mariah say "Bruce why are you spitting" and "I love you Bruce." At the end she saw my camera and ran to her mom because she didn't want me to take her picture. Too cute.

2 mo. checkup

Bruce had his 2 month checkup today.

Height: 23.5 inches long

Weight: 12 lbs 3 oz

He's in the 50 to 75th percentile in all measurements.

He also had his shots today. That was heart breaking. My poor baby cried so hard that nothing came out for about 15 seconds and then a huge wail followed. He stopped after it was all over, but real tears filled his eyes.

Anyway he's doing great. He's average in growth and advanced in his motor skills. He almost rolled off the table today when Dr. Ngyuen put him on his tummy. He's also developing his cognitive skills nicely. He likes to say lots of vowel sounds, smile, make eye contact, follow objects with his eyes, recognizes mommy and daddy's voice and he's starting to enjoy the baby in the mirror.
I only wish we didn't have to do shots again but we'll be back in 2 months.

Yackity Yack

Every night after bruce gets a bath I lay him in his crib so he can exercise and I can clean his room and get ready for bed myself. He likes to talk when he does this, so I recorded it. When he's breathing heavy its because he is doing the bicycle with his legs the whole time and he's catching his breath.

Oh what a day

Almost all day Bruce's face has looked like this:
Today started at a wonderful 8:30am, and I was so happy that my baby slept until then. I decided to wake him up and start the day with the usual diaper change. But I guess I was interrupting Bruce's business because just as I removed his dirty dipe his "business" squirted all over the wall, changing table, clean diapers and wipes. Nothing like cleaning up baby poo first thing in the morning.

After that I got a 5 minute break before projectile vomit went all over me, my hair, the couch and the baby. Sweet! Happy motherhood to me.

He decided to take a short morning nap instead of his long one, but at least I had time to take a shower. I got all cleaned up and dressed just in time to be spit upped on all over again.

Thus the cycle began, fussy Bruce, only taking short naps, drooling and yacking on mom. Then it increased to really upset Bruce, so tired he couldn't settle down. I don't know if it was Omi's rythmetic butt pat he craved or Daddy's tight swaddle. But it wasn't me. He wanted nothing to do with me.

So we took a stroller ride, and it worked. Then we came home and it started all over again. Until finally at 4pm he took a decent nap. Thank goodness!

And if this post makes you wonder why kids are worth it...here's a picture to remind you ;)

2 Months have gone by

1month 2 month

1 month 2 month

Bruce is 2 months old today. For his 2 month birthday I am post poning shots until Monday (his peditrician has jury duty.)
Last month he was 9lbs 9oz and 21 inches long. This month he's bigger than that;)
Other noteworthy milestones: he laughs and smiles alot. Rolls over from tummy to back and is now having conversations with mommy and daddy.
We love this little guy and I'm sure you do too.

Babies at the Bay

Kiel unexpectedly got 8 days off. We packed and packed and packed our truck and headed to the bay area, a place we call home.

Bruce was blessed by his father last Sunday along with two of his cousins.
me, jelly belly, bruce and kiel

There were lots of people there to celebrate the special occasion and many that were missed.
frances & luke, michelle & avril, me & bruce, katie & mickey

marcie, me & Bruce, sarah
Bruce with most of his cousins that were there, minus Sydney who went home early due to exhaustion ;)

and somehow I missed a big group picture with the grandparents. Oh well.

We got to spend lots of time with Kiel's family and I got to finally meet adorable Sydney girl. Bruce and Syd also met and at one time they even made eye contact.
Syd and Bruce playing at Omi's house
this pic and the one below were taken at great grandma keddington's house.4 generation: Bruce, Grandma K, Omi, Kiel
Bruce also met his bigger younger cousin Luke. Bruce is 2 weeks older than Luke. Here they are taking a nap together in Luke's crib.

Kiel and I actually got to see a movie in a theater. Grown ups. A good watch ;) Thanks again Omi and Opa!
We also had lunch with friends at skips and lunch with an old friend from high school.
After being surrounded by all of those babies that are Bruce's age and visiting our family and friends and checking out the decent prices in housing we are contemplating on moving back to the bay. Only time will tell :)

Tales of Bruce Wayne - episode 3

Today was a new adventure. I woke up bright and early ready for breakfast, 6:28am to be exact. Mom was unexpectedly cheery. Maybe it was because she got a solid 6 hours sleep, who knows, it's not my job to figure out her moods anyway.
Mom and Dad wanted to go somewhere, not sure where. I wasn't in a rush so I pooped three times in 20 minutes, one diaper change after another. It was fun. Those two act like diaper changing is in the end of the world, especially dad. Then just as we were about to head out the door... I messed my outfit. Mom wasn't thrilled. An olutfit change later and we are out the door.

Next thing I know, I'm in a restaurant with a waitress just staring at me. Kinda creepy, but I get it, I'm super adorable how could she not?

Then we went to the mall. I stayed awake for the whole thing.

Finally we went home. I was exhausted and took a 4 hour nap. Then it was time to go to the grocery store. This time we played kangaroo. Dad looks awesome, right!?!

I napped while mom shopped.

Last, I fussed for 3 hours when we got home. I was tired. Finally I got a bath. Exactly what I needed.
Till next time -
