For instance, Kiel likes things in a particular order. In fact, he can't sit down and relax until everything is in its place; remotes lined up neatly on coffee table, all toys out of sight, trash on floor thrown in trash can, etc.. Bruce is the same exact way, but unfortunately, he doesn't have the same vision as his dad. Every morning is pretty much the same; after breakfast I get Bruce out of the high chair and allow him to have free play and every morning he can't free play until the living room is exactly how he likes it.
The very first thing he does; knock all remotes off coffee table one by one so they are scattered on the floor. Then he opens coffee table drawer and pulls out two coasters and places them UPSIDE down on coffee table. They must be upside down! After that, he proceeds to pull out his tiny toys that fit in the coffee table drawer and scatter those about. And then it's time to reorganize the t.v. equipment. He turns the x-box on, the Wii sensor gets thrown on the floor and the fios DVD also gets removed from the shelf. After that, he heads over to the shoes that are neatly lined up by the door and tosses each pair up in the air, where they fall is where they should stay ALL day. And last we head over to the electric reclining couch and press the button to make sure the couch is completely reclined. The odd part is, even though the room looks in complete disarray, each object was methodically put in it's new place in an orderly fashion. Like I said, he's a funny kid. He's the same way during meal times. First, nothing should be on his tray that he doesn't like. I usually have three groups of things on his tray at the same time. He will try one from each group first, to make sure he likes them all. If there by chance happens to be something he doesn't like (such as anything green) he takes each piece and chucks it on the floor AND only after his tray is visually to his liking will he chow down.
He can spend hours trying to figure out how something works. This morning he played with an empty teething tablet bottle, trying to figure out how to put the cap on and how to take it off. He only got frustrated when I twisted the cap on for him to show him how it worked and he couldn't twist it off. He also gets frustrated when you try to help him. He wants to figure it out, he wants to do it and every one else needs to back off!
He jabbers all the time and I think he might be part Italian because he always talks with his hands ;) Here's a little video, to show you what I mean.
and sorry it's sideways, I always forget to turn my phone the right way when taking videos.
Bruce is starting to get more confident when standing and yesterday he took 4 steps. But usually he drops to his knees and prefers to crawl. He'll get there soon!
